    History of Pre Printed Lanyards

The pre printed lanyards has been one of the famous accessories of all time. Usually, they take on the form of strings or attachments and have been proven to be not just a very useful item that can be used in everyday life but also as an attractive accessory that you can carry around. The word lanyard originated from a French term meaning rope or thong. However, as the years progressed, so did the change that occurred to the lanyards and badge holders continued.

Pre Printed Lanyards: Their First Appearances

During the 15th century, the first pre printed lanyards were found on ships and were used by the nautical crew to secure the ship and its other equipments on board. Sailors were also known to have used lanyards in order to secure their belongings. In order to do this, they tied pieces of ropes and nylon wires around items such as their knives, pistols, and whistles. They did this to prevent their valuables from accidentally falling off.

The custom printed lanyards had first emerged during the early forms of war such as the First World War and the Second World War; during those times, the pre printed lanyards were placed on the military officers' shoulders to denote their rank and other pertinent information about them. This has been observed in the military realm as early as the 17th century, thus the emergence of the lanyards. Like the sailors during the 15th century, these soldiers used the lanyards not just as decorative pieces of ropes but also as items that can secure their items. Some of the items that are attached to the lanyards are their rifles, whistles, and sabers. During that time, nicely made lanyards are described as pre printed lanyards that will not break away from the item that it holds even when the item is placed in its holster. At the same time, they can be detached from the item if given the adequate amount of pulling.

    The Present Pre Printed Lanyards

At present, the lanyards are still out in the market right now. To produce the lanyards with the imprints, the manufacturers perform different types of methods. This will depend on the material where the imprints will be made. Some of the methods are by means of silkscreen printing, offset printing, heat transfer printing, and woven directly, if the lanyard is made of fabric. With the rise of technology, more printing methods for custom printed lanyards are devised.
